Speaking up on tax justice

I have spoken a number of times in the European Parliament about the importance of fighting for tax justice, and will keep doing so until we have cracked down on tax dodging once and for all.

15 December 2015: Outlining the content of my report to crack down on tax avoidance and evasion with concrete actions. It was approved in parliament by 500 votes to 122.

15 December 2015: Clarifying that my report does not call for a harmonised tax rate across Europe and demanding that Member States respect decisions made by the Commission.

24 November 2015: Welcoming the approval of six measures to tackle tax avoidance from my report and the near unanimous support from the house.

7 July 2015: Arguing for companies to be made to report where they make their profits, and where they pay their taxes

24 June 2015: Responding to the European Commission's second set of proposals for tackling tax avoidance, and asking them to go further

30 April 2015: Demanding that the European Investment Bank stop providing funding to companies that make use of tax havens

25 March 2015: Responding to the European Commission's first set of proposals for tackling tax avoidance, and calling for more to be done on transparency

9 March 2015: Arguing that tax avoidance by multinational companies can damage competition within Europe

9 March 2015: Confronting a UKIP MEP arguing against the need to do more on tax avoidance

13 January 2015: Responding to the European Council's declaration on tax avoidance, and calling on EU countries to work together to tackle the problem

13 January 2015: Setting out the options for how the European Council could tackle tax avoidance and tax evasion

15 December 2014: Setting out three priorities for action in the wake of the 'Lux Leaks' scandal
