This morning Anneliese was in Milton Keynes supporting Labour’s ‘Woman to Woman’ tour with Luciana Berger MP, Fiona Mactaggart MP and Andrew Pakes.
The ‘Woman to Woman’ tour bus is travelling up and down the country speaking to women about the issues and concerns that matter most to them.
Anneliese said: “I’m proud to be a part of the Woman to Woman tour. Women have been consistently and systematically disadvantaged by the Conservative-led coalition government’s policies over the last five years – research done by the House of Commons Library has shown that 85% of the coalition’s cuts hit women, despite the fact that women earn on average less than men.
“In the last general election, 9.1 million women didn’t use their vote. These women have the power to decide which party will form the next government, which is why it is so important that we go out and speak to women about the issues which affect them, whether that’s the ever increasing cost of childcare, tackling domestic violence or lack of transparency over pay. Labour has committed to helping women balance work with caring commitments, promoting flexible working, and action on equal pay.”
