Anneliese has signed a petition which calls for an an end to the European Parliament's costly and wasteful multi-seat set-up.
Anneliese said: "Whilst the vast majority of committee and delegation meetings take place in Brussels, under the current system MEPs are required to travel to Strasbourg for 12 four-day plenary sessions a year. This wastes millions of pounds and generates huge amounts of CO2.
"This decision is up to member state governments and it is time they listened to MEPs, who have on a number of occasions overwhelmingly voted in favour of a single seat for the European Parliament, and our constituents. Along with my Labour colleagues I am calling on them to produce a roadmap towards a single seat and get value for money for taxpayers."
