European HIV Testing Week

Anneliese has backed European HIV Testing Week. This fantastic initiative brings together organisations across Europe to provide HIV testing.

Last year, more than 470 organisations took part with thousands more people now aware of their HIV status.

At Labour Party conference this year Anneliese met with representatives of the Terrence Higgins Trust, a charity which works to minimise the spread of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections, as well as fighting to remove the stigma and discrimination which many people with HIV experience.

Anneliese said: "I very much welcome European HIV Testing Week and the fantastic work which organisations do to help people get tested. I will be doing everything I can to help promote this initiative, including getting tested myself, and I encourage others to do the same".
